10 Things About Superman That Make No Sense

3. The Continuity Surrounding The Legion Of Superheroes

Although nearly every one of the Legion’s origin stories essentially begins with the team coming together to protect Earth, there has nevertheless been at least four revisions that have somewhat altered this backstory.

The first origin story, created in 1968, began with Cosmic Boy, Saturn Girl, and Lightning Lad, first forming the Legion of Superheroes, and later recruiting more members later on in the series.

Then in 1994, this was slightly altered so that they were not initially accepted into the United Planet’s Organization- until eventually they are and become an official branch of it.

Come “Infinite Crisis,” however, this would be changed once again - this time giving the Legion a rebellious mentality that was against the U.P.

There were more changes too later on, but it's obviously clear from these revisions alone what's going on here. The Legion’s history is a picture-perfect example of how continuity modifications can do more harm than good. Superman himself is evidence this, especially given that his history with the Legion is practically replaced with Kara Zor El's own history with the group.
