10 Things About Superman That Make No Sense

2. Superman The Hypnotist

One of the most heavily criticized aspects of Superman’s appearance is his glasses, or rather how his spectacles somehow work as such an effective disguise.

Despite the fact that his disguise has many more components than just the glasses, people have nevertheless continued to focus on his spectacles. Frankly, though, the solution that DC gave to this, in 1978, was so much worse than the actual criticism.

To Start, it was firmly established before that Superman could hypnotize people but only did so minimally. He had no idea, however, that his “Kryptonian Plexiglas” lens had been subtly amplifying this power all along. This, in turn, had the effect of causing people to imagine him looking completely different from that of his actual appearance.

This solution really just epitomizes the ridiculousness of taking this question so seriously in the first place.
