10 Things DC Wants You To Forget About The Flash

6. Whether Superman Or The Flash Is Faster

There are certain geeky arguments that will be laboured over into perpetuity. Is Stan Lee actually a good writer? Who would win in a fight, Batman or (insert super-powerful fictional figure here)? One of those questions has been answered multiple times in comic books themselves: who€™s faster, The Flash or Superman? The Crimson Comet and the Man Of Steel had their first race in 1967, with a re-match a couple of years later - both of which Superman won. Following Crisis On Infinite Earths they challenge each other again, and The Flash finally triumphs - with the rational that Superman is more accustomed to flying really fast than sprinting. Since then The Flash has been illustrated as way faster than Superman, then back again. At this point, DC is probably sick of appeasing both sides of the argument - like Freddy Vs Jason ending with neither horror icon strictly €œwinning€ - and have so thrown their hands up and left them to get on with actual important superhero business.
