4. Her First Appearance Coincided With The USA Joining World War II
As already mentioned in this article, Wonder Woman's first appearance in a comic book was in All Star Comics #8, published in December of 1941 - which just so happened to be the very same month as the attack on Pearl Harbor and, as a result, the very same month that the United States of America joined World War II. Moreover, due to the period in which she was created and thus first appeared, she was actually initially depicted as fighting against Axis military forces in addition to fighting the more traditional comic book supervillains. An additional fact related to this is that the 1970s Wonder Woman television show starring Lynda Carter was very nearly set in World War II, but that premise was deemed too costly and so it was given a more contemporary setting.
