10 Things Everyone Always Gets Wrong About Batman

1. He's Not A Detective

Despite being called the 'World's Greatest Detective', Batman's investigatory instincts have taken a back seat in recent years, with writers, filmmakers and game designers instead preferring to highlight the character's physical - not intellectual - prowess.

And that's a shame, because Batman is first and foremost a great detective. His greatest stories revolve around him uncovering conspiracies, unravelling mysteries, and using his wits to solve problems.

It's an element we don't nearly see enough of today, and while it doesn't have to be the focus the majority of the time, it is true that the Batman of the post-Nolan era doesn't do nearly enough detective work, relying instead on technology and expository dialogue from his allies to connect the dots to a given mystery.

Reputations come and go, but when one's as integral as this, can DC - and their fans - really afford to neglect it?
