10 Things Everyone Always Gets Wrong About Cyclops
8. He Has No Interests Outside The X-Men
Scott Summers is the poster boy for Professor X's dream. From day one he has led the team and been a company man, no matter what happens, and this dedication to the cause has left him little time for anything else.
...Except when he worked as a fisherman, or took a job as a D.J in a nightclub.
The former of those new ventures came about after The Phoenix Saga, when a disconsolate Cyclops abandoned the X-Men, needing time to come to terms with the death of Jean. Signing up to a fishing boat, captained by Lee Forrester, he spent some time working as a deckhand before the inevitable happened and they got involved in some supernatural possession shenanigans and he reverted to type.
As for the latter...
In the fledgling days of the comic, the X-Men are forced to disband by the FBI. This leads to them having to take day jobs. Marvel Girl became a model, because of course she did, and Slim, the man who is allegedly as interesting as plain rice, became a D.J.
Needless to say, if the thought of him dropping phat beats doesn't fill you with glee, then there is no hope for you.
