10 Things Everyone Always Gets Wrong About The Avengers

3. The Hulk Is A Long Standing Member

Wasp Avengers Founder
Marvel Comics

A member of the original line up, Bruce Banner's gamma-radiated other half has been an Avenger since day one, lending some very serious muscle to an already pretty strong team. And though that may be true in the MCU, the comic books tell a very different story.

The first protagonist the rest had to face in the very first issue, the Hulk would team up with the others but only stick around for one more month.

When the Space Phantom takes his form, leaving the not so jolly green giant in limbo, another battle will ensue with his friends. Eventually, space face is beaten, after taking on the guise of Ant-Man and Iron Man, but the residual fall-out will see Banner facing something that he doesn't want to.

That is the fact that the rest of them hate him, like, really hate him.

This is too much for the Hulk and, with the attitude that any teenager would be proud of, he decides that he doesn't need them. In fact, he doesn't need anyone, and with one giant leap, he jumps out of the story and out of the Avengers.
