10 Things Marvel Wants You To Forget About Black Panther

3. Broke Up With Storm

After Black Panther and Storm wed, they hoped to use their influence to spread peace and prosperity to the world.

Unfortunately, these characters live in a comic book, so that was never going to happen. After Namor the Submariner bonded with the Phoenix Force, he was endowed with godlike power. When Namor discovered Wakanda's army were preparing to remove the Phoenix from his body, he buried the country in a tsunami.

Because Wakanda was attacked by a mutant, Black Panther believed it would be a political disaster to stay with Storm. Worried his allies and people could turn against him if he maintained a relationship with a mutant, T'Challa had his marriage annulled.

However, this decision doesn't make sense since Namor has teamed up with T'Challa loads of times! Since they've worked together in the Avengers and the Illuminati, people would associate Namor with T'Challa more than Storm. (Also, why would the Wakandans see Storm as an enemy? By using her powers, she could reverse the effects of the flood in no time.)

Even though T'Challa thought ending his marriage would help his nation heal, it made him come across as heartless.
