10 Things Marvel Wants You To Forget About The Fantastic Four
7. Reed's Actions During Civil War
Reed is one of the most brilliant minds in the entire Marvel canon, but that just means that when he DOES screw up, he screws up harder than anyone else. Case in point, the hot mess that is Civil War.
Now no one comes out of Civil War looking like anything approaching likeable, but Reed in particular screws up in two key ways, the other of which I'll get into later. For now, let's go over how he screwed up in Civil War.
First off, him being part of the illuminati was such a disastrous decision that it was later revealed that there are alternate versions of Reed who murdered the Illuminati at their first meeting because he knew that NOTHING good could come of this nonsense. Then, of course, there's the fact that he built a murderous clone of Thor, who then proceeded to kill Goliath in the first major conflict of Civil War.
And then the fact that he built a high security prison for heroes who violate the registration act stationed in the Negative Zone. Locking up people the government deems criminals is one thing, but the fact that he then renders these heroes - his friends and colleagues - refugees in another reality is a step over the line that the comics have either tried and failed to reconcile, or just straight up ignored.
But there was one other thing he did during this time, but what was it? Oh yes I remember now...
