Not that Matt Murdock isn't used to some surprising twists of fate during his almost fifty year history. More recently his secret identity was outed to the press thanks to the Kingpin (well, third-hand from the Kingpin, anyway), and since then he's been trying to live down the fact that everybody knows what he does in his down time to varying degrees of success. He's gone through a lot worse, however. Karl Kesel wanted to make Matt mayor of New York City, but his editors vetoed the idea. There was almost a Daredevil/Predator crossover. There was most certainly a team up between Daredevil and Uri Gellar against psychic supervillain Mind-Wave. Oh, and then there was the time he started working undercover for SHIELD, which necessitated him having plastic surgery, taking the new identity of Laurent Levasseur and regaining his sight. Taking his defining trait away from him? Great idea, guys.
