10 Things You Didn't Know About Magneto

1. Charles, I Am Your Brother

Since his creation, Magneto has always been posed in opposition with, or at least in the context of, Charles Xavier. The two represented the opposing sides of mutant-human relations. They were both not only extremely powerful in their own ways, but also highly intelligent and charismatic figures. And the fact that they started out as friends only added to the tension of their disputes. But X-Men creator Stan Lee originally wanted to take that one step further.

Lee has revealed that he always planned on revealing that Professor Xavier and Magneto were long-lost brothers. However, he left the book in 1966, before he could reveal the connection between the two. Lee has also admitted that he had no idea how this would work, although were certain he would have found a way: "I always wanted Magneto to turn out to be Professor X's brother. If I had stayed with the book, that's what I would have done. (...) I figured that I could come up with an explanation when I needed it: I always did."

With a (nearly) useless degree in English literature and a personal trainer qualification he's never used, Freddie spends his times writing things that he hopes will somehow pay the rent. He's also a former professional singer, and plays the saxophone and ukulele. He's not really used to talking about himself in the third person, and would like to stop now, thanks.
