10 Things You Didn't Know About Magneto
5. He's a Family Man
Everyone knows that Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are Magneto's children. The connection between them was even referenced by Quicksilver in the latest X-Men film. What fewer people realize is how large the Magneto family is. In addition to the twins, Magneto had two other daughters. Anya was born before he ever became Magneto, and it was her tragic death in a fire, together with Magneto's wife Magda, that caused Max Eisenhardt's powers to surface for the first time.
Lorna Dane, one of the first new additions to the X-Men after the team's creation, had barely begun her tenure on the team before fans began to speculate on a possible connection between the two characters. Like Magneto, Lorna possessed the ability to manipulate metal using magnetic forces. She even took the code-name Magnetrix, although she quickly changed it to Polaris. It was some time before Marvel confirmed that Lorna was Magneto's daughter, in a move that surprised absolutely no one.
In addition to his four children, Magneto also has three grandchildren; Quicksilver's daughter (and half-Inhuman) Luna, and Wanda's twin boys Billy and Tommy, aka Young Avenger's Wiccan and Speed. And that's just counting the known children in the main Marvel continuity. Other members of the Lenscher family across the multiverse include the son of Polaris and Colossus, the daughter of Nightcrawler and Scarlet Witch, and several possible children born to alternate reality Magnetos and Rogue.
