10 Things You Didn't Know About Mr. Freeze

5. There Are Multiple Mr Freeze Rollercoasters

Sure, the new hotness right now is comic book characters being made into movie stars, but before they were appearing on the big screen? They were being adapted into rollercoasters. There are any number of white-knuckle rides themed around superheroes, from the Spider-Man ride at Universal Studios to the Ride Of Steel at Six Flags. The former of those is a simulator which is supposed to replicate web-slinging, and the Superman ride was explicitly designed with imitating the feeling of flight. There's a Hulk ride with hollow rails to sound like the Jolly Green Giant's howl. Amidst all those heroes, though, Mr Freeze also has his own themed ride. Also located at Six Flags Over Texas and Six Flags St Louis, the Mr Freeze ride was introduced as promotion for Batman & Robin, but both remain at the parks to this day. It launches riders up really high and then shoots them back down, all in an appropriately icy locale. Vanilla Ice performed when it was recently redesign. Less appropriate.
