5. She Made Her Debut Outside Of Comic Book Form In Ultimate Spider-Man
While casual fans know her from Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, Spider-Gwen appeared outside of comic book form way before that.
During the episode “Return To The Spider-Verse – Part 4” in the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon show, both Peter Parker and Miles Morales make their way back to Miles’ dimension after a series of adventures. At first, they're glad to have made it back to an average place until they witness a Spider-Woman with a bag of money running away from the cops. This person was Gwen Stacy.
Initially, they believed Gwen was a criminal, but luckily they could calm down enough for Gwen to explain that she's a superhero looking to return the money. As it turns out, she's been taking over as the Spider-Man for this universe while Miles was away, with Gwen having the help of an Aunt May who was still grieving over Peter's death in this universe.
Liz and Maddie star Dove Cameron voices Gwen, and the episode was generally received well by fans who were happy to see Spider-Gwen executed faithfully to the comics.
