10 Things You Didn't Know About The Mighty Thor

8. That’s DOCTOR Foster To You

The Mighty Thor Jane Foster Death
Marvel Comics

Jane Foster had been the skilled and dutiful nurse for disabled Dr. Donald Blake, aka the Mighty Thor, for years. Jane was with Blake in Norway when they were separated and he discovered the cane that transformed him into Thor. Jane was often concerned about the seemingly frail Donald while she became increasingly enamoured with the muscular Thor, causing Blake to worry that she could never love a “normal man” like him.

Don truly loved Foster and he wanted to marry her, but he was forbidden to marry or even reveal his identity to her by Odin. Foster struggled with her love for both men. She was growing increasingly angry with Blake for making her wait for him. She was also in love with Thor, as he was almost constantly saving her life from villains who either knew Thor’s secret or had made some connection between the Thunder God and the nurse.

After failing Odin’s rigged contest to make her a goddess, Jane was returned to Earth in the employ of Dr. Keith Kincaid with her memories of Thor removed. The two fell in love, eventually married, and had a son named Jimmy. They later divorced, and Jane went to medical school and became a doctor. Foster eventually follows Blake to Broxton, OK., and joined him in his medical practice.
