10 Things You Didn't Know About The Mighty Thor

4. The Mighty Thor Assembled

The Mighty Thor Jane Foster Death
Marvel Comics

Assembled by chance by the Chitauri Warbringer, the Mighty Thor agreed to join the group of Avengers that defeated the alien. This team consisted of veteran heroes Iron Man, Sam Wilson aka Captain America, and the Vision, and teen heroes Ms. Marvel, Spider-Man (Miles Morales), and Nova. Jane's identity remained a secret until Mjolnir was teleported a few days into the future and she transformed in front of Sam Wilson.

The team got off to a very rocky start, as they had no funding and operated out of an airplane hanger. A malfunctioning Vision chased Ms. Marvel off the team and blackmailed Nova, and the group found that Vision’s betrayals were caused by one of Kang the Conqueror's alter-egos. He was defeated and lost in the time stream as the team came back together.

Sam Wilson and Steve Rogers were informed that S.H.I.E.L.D. was running a secret prison center using a sentient Cosmic Cube to alter reality, called Project: Kobik. Both the Avengers and the Avengers Unity Team went in to shut it down, but they were caught up in the illusion. Both teams eventually got out and shut down the project. The Cube restored Rogers to his former vigor but manipulations by the Red Skull turned him into a sleeper agent for the recreation of the Hydra Empire in Captain America: Steve Rogers # 1.
