2. Their Name Was Considered Too Scary For Children
In the 1994 Spider-Man animated series on Fox Kids, censors felt that the word "sinister" sounded too menacing for a children's program and so the name was changed (this was a bit weird though, as it was in spite of the fact that X-Men - another Fox Kids - children's program, had Mister Sinister as a villain without changing his name). The name change resulted in the sextet being called the Insidious Six - a move that seems somewhat ironic and one that probably wouldn't work these days, given that "Insidious" is the name of one of the eeriest and most menacing horror franchises of our time!
