While he hasn't matched the profile of Batman's A-list villains, Black Mask has made some appearances outside of comics.

He appeared in the animated series The Batman, voiced by actor James Remar (who would also make a pretty awesome live-action Black Mask) and in the criminally underrated Batman: The Brave and the Bold, voiced by John DiMaggio. He also appeared in the animated films Batman: Under the Red Hood and Batman: Bad Blood, voiced by Wade Williams and Steve Blum respectively. Perhaps most interestingly of all, in a case of what could have been, Paul Dini wanted the character to appear in The New Batman Adventures and be voiced by Darth Vader himself James Earl Jones.

Black Mask also appeared in the Arkham games. He was first mentioned in Arkham Asylum as part of a Riddler trophy involving his mask, he then had a brief cameo at the start of Arkham City before appearing as one of the main villains in Arkham Origins.

Black Mask has yet to appear in live action, but his father, Richard Sionis (played by Todd Stashwick), featured in an episode of Gotham as a sort of Proto Black Mask.
