10 Things You (Probably) Didn’t Know About Spider-Man
6. It’s A Big Neighborhood
For all his claims of being a “friendly neighborhood Spider-Man”, there are few heroes as well-travelled as Peter. The old Web-head has not only been to space multiple times and crisscrossed the world in his adventures, but he is also a well-known commodity in the Multiverse. That’s about as far as you can get from the Queens-Manhattan corridor.
Spider-Man is a regular visitor to the prehistoric area called the Savage Land in Antarctica; the first time aiding Ka-Zar, the self-appointed protector of the land, and Shanna the She-Devil in saving the Savage Land and taking pictures for the Daily Bugle in a two-part arc in Sensational Spider-Man #13-15. Spidey has been around the world, has done spy work with Black Widow, Wolverine, and his newly discovered sister, and has done hero work with the Avengers, Fantastic Four, Secret Defenders, and others.
Working with Doctor Strange often found Spidey crossing dimensions, starting in Amazing Spider-Man Annual #2 and his time with the Future Foundation allowed Peter the opportunity to go to Subterranea and The Negative Zone beginning in FF #1. He was drawn to outer space with many other heroes and villains on the makeshift Battleworld during the "Secret Wars" and has spent a fortnight in Asgard during the "Fear Itself" storyline as a member of the Mighty. Spider-Man has swung far more places than the steel jungles of New York City. He had even time traveled with more than a few ramifications in a Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man storyline.
