10 Things You (Probably) Didn’t Know About Spider-Man

2. Twice Bitten

Peter Parker wasn’t the only person bitten by the irradiated spider on that day.

Appearing for the first time in the 2014 volume of Amazing Spider-Man # 1, Korean-American teenager Cindy Moon was bitten on the ankle seconds after it bit the hand of Parker. Moon accidentally webbed up her parents with her organic webbing, and Ezekiel Sims spirited the young girl away and trained her in the use of her powers. He also warned her about the predator Morlun and locked her away in a well-stocked bunker. Spider-Man released her 13 years later and she adopted the name Silk.

In the "Spider-Verse" story arc, multiple “Spider-People” from across the Multiverse approached Peter and Cindy for their aid against The Inheritors, a group of psychic vampires that were after all the Spider Totems. Cindy learned that she was the Totem called the Bride and was one of three that were part of a ritual sacrifice. The group defeated The Inheritors and returned to their proper universes.

After a long search, Cindy finally located her parents, who were in the Negative Zone looking for a cure for her powers. Silk accepted Jimmy Woo’s invitation to join his Agents of Atlas just as the "War of the Realms" exploded on Earth. The team fought Sindr through South Korea and Fire Goblins on the Great Wall of China, at the cost of several teammates.
