10 Times Superman Fought Other Superheroes (And Who Won)

When the question of "who are the strongest heroes in DC?" comes up, there are a few familiar names that come to mind. However, a hero that is often overlooked is Captain Atom. While he may not like a threat, he possesses a myriad of powers that make him a formidable opponent for any hero.

In the Injustice: Gods Among Us story, Superman declares a totalitarian regime on Earth. The Heroes of the Justice League are divided into two factions, one led by Superman, the other led by Batman. After joining Batman's faction, Captain Atom (along with Black Canary and Green Arrow) breaks into the Fortress of Solitude while Batman is keeping Superman distracted.

However, when Batman's distraction fails, Superman arrives at the Fortress and engages in battle with Captain Atom. After being beaten to a pulp, Captain Atom decides to self-destruct but not before saying to Superman the following words: "I gave you the chance to do the right thing."

Despite this heroic sacrifice, Superman survives the nuclear explosion and continues his evil regime.
