9. Chastising Lois Lane For Being Too Stupid To Figure Out His Secret Identity

The Silver Age Superman was probably the most hateful version of the character yet, and he frequently used dirty tricks to protect his secret identity from both Lois Lane and Lana Lang. Those two spent pretty much an entire decade fighting for his attention, and the Man of Steel frequently treated them both pretty badly, something which actually reflected the attitude of most men towards woman at the time horribly well.

The cover above ended up being pretty misleading as to what actually happened within the issue itself as DC pretty much created an early version of "clickbait" with attention grabbing shots like this during that period.

However, the sight of the Man of Steel chastising the two women who love him for being too stupid to figure out his secret identity (which he went to extreme measures to protect on a regular basis) pretty much perfectly epitomises what a jerk Superman was during this period, and it's no wonder that all of the stories from titles such as Superman's Girlfriend Lois Lane were later dismissed as all being imaginary tales!
