10 Times Supervillains Quit

3. The Hellphibians Decide Not To Breed - 2000 AD

Mister Freeze Arkham Manor
2000 AD

When the creepy, toad-like, humanoid monsters known as the Hellphibians rise up from the depths of a highly-polluted lake, they have one thing on their mind: breeding. Every male in their mutant race has died, and if they want their species to continue, they will have to look further afield for suitable mates.

Making their way into a nearby village, they go on a killing spree, viciously murdering anyone they see as competition. This includes a girl gang on their way back from a gig in the big city, and a cricket team made up entirely of nuns (who, in hindsight, were never going to be serious competition. Do your research, Hellphibians).

Finally, the Hellphibians find their bounty: every one of the village's male specimens, all crowded into a pub by the fitting name of the Randy Old Goat. There's only one problem: all of the village's male specimens are, frankly, more horrible to look at than the Hellphibians.

Similar to how the unholy toad monsters began life as members of the Order of Anura and were slowly mutated by toxic waste, the once respectable patrons of this rural pub had been slowly mutated by the ravages of time and excess alcohol. The Hellphibians are repulsed beyond measure, and sadly return home, accepting their fate as the last of the species.
