2. Using Experimental Weapons On Him - Incredible Hulk #128
When it's unveiled in the Incredible Hulk #128 that the Avengers intend to aim a 'Gammatron' at the Hulk to stop him, a whole lot of warning sirens likely go off in most readers heads.
Sure, they only intend to turn the Hulk back into Bruce - but realistically, since they have minimal idea of how the Hulk works exactly, they have pretty much zero idea of how said gamma beam is going to react. Similarly, it's unclear if the beam has a solid shut-off point, as were Banner to be blasted with gamma radiation there's a good chance he could get seriously hurt.
While it's always nice to see a solution to pacifying the Hulk that isn't just 'punch him until he cannot punch', perhaps aiming an untested and potentially unstable nuclear weapon isn't the smartest idea a bunch of supposed geniuses have come up with.
