10 Times Villains Stole Superheroes’ Powers

6. Zoom Steals The Flash's Powers - The Flash (Vol. 5) #25

Loki Mjolnir
DC Comics

Born in the future, Professor Zoom grew obsessed with researching the Flash and the Speed Force that powered him, dedicating his life to the not-at-all creepy study of the long-dead hero.

Somehow, the speedster-obsessed man manages to get his hands on one of Barry Allen's old suits, which he then examines with a similarly sinister fascination, until he was able to use the 'residual traces of the Speed Force' that were on the suit to clone himself Allen's superpowers.

This makes the point where the villain finally does meet the Flash all the more uncomfortable, because Zoom only has powers in the first place because he took them from his suit, which is something Allen is initially totally unaware of.

Essentially, the entire reason the Flash's biggest enemy exists is because a man in the future was so obsessed with him that he managed to steal the hero's powers from an old sweaty suit, which is maybe the single creepiest way to get superpowers ever.
