10 Twisted Comic Book Telepaths You Don't Want Inside Your Head

7. Gorilla Grodd (DC)

First Appearance: The Flash #106 Gorilla Grodd is an enemy of the Flash. He began life as nothing more than an everyday, ordinary ape, but exposure to radiation from space (after an alien spacecraft crashed in his jungle) gave him extremely potent psionic powers - including both telepathy and telekinesis - and made him supremely intelligent, beyond that of even the most intelligent humans. Grodd and his fellow apes saw the alien who crashed as some kind of deity and took it as their leader. They subsequently built for themselves a technologically advanced home that they called Gorilla City and lived harmoniously before being discovered by a team of nosy explorers. Grodd showed his true colours when he telepathically manipulated one of the explorers into killing the alien that he and his fellow apes had taken as their leader and took over Gorilla City himself, with the intention of taking over the entire planet afterwards (plans which brought him to the attention of the Flash and his Justice League colleagues). Grodd will happily use others to do his dirty work - even the most vile of dirty work - in order to get his own way and you really wouldn't want to be one of the people he mind-controlled to do so. Thankfully, when Flash is moving at his top speeds, Grodd struggles to target him for control - though he has managed to do so on a number of occasions over the years.
