10 Twisted Comic Book Telepaths You Don't Want Inside Your Head
6. Bedlam (Marvel)
First Appearance: Peter Parker: Spider-Man #11 While Bedlam isn't pathologically evil, she certainly isn't the kind of being you want to have poking around inside your head. She is one of the Exemplars - a group of humans each powered by an item possessing the same portion of power from one of eight extra-dimensional beings (those being Cyttorak, Watoomb, Raggadorr, Ikonn, Valtorr, Krakkan, Farallah and Balthakk). Juggernaut is the most well-known of these Exemplars, as he is powered by the Crimson Gem of Cyttorak. The eight beings wanted to find out who was the most powerful amongst them and this item distribution seemed the best way to do so without killing each other (though their Exemplars' final battle would ultimately kill nearly everyone on Earth). Bedlam is Olisa Kabaki - a Kenyan girl who Ikonn led to his "Ivory Idol". It granted her vast telepathic powers, but also drove her mad. She was able to more than match Charles Xavier in a telepathic battle and is able to fire psionic bolts of pure madness. You really, really don't want those inside your head. That level of power combined with Bedlam's level of madness is a mix you don't want to experience.
