10 Twisted Comic Book Telepaths You Don't Want Inside Your Head
5. Brainwave (DC)
First Appearance: All-Star Comics # 15 & All-Star Squadron # 24 Brainwave is actually the name of two characters in the DC Comics universe. They are the father and son duo Henry King, Sr. and Henry "Hank" King, Jr. and they both posses the psionic powers of telepathy, telekinesis, image projection and mental blasts, as well as genius intellects. The eldest King is an outright supervillain. He was an introvert and bookworm growing up and his powers first manifested when he found that he could project 3D images of the books he was reading. His personality deteriorated when he started becoming jealous of the lives of others - particularly those who were with girls he liked - and he used his abilities as they developed to turn to a life of crime (using "thought constructs" to steal money on his behalf and joining forces with Professor Elba - the creator of the "insanity serum" - in order to influence others in to committing crimes on their behalf). His son is more ambiguous when it comes to his morals - he's sometimes a hero and sometimes a villain. That said, you wouldn't want him in your head. Initially a good guy, he became a villain when his father died and passed on his powers to him, which caused him to go a little bit insane. As a result, he used his telepathy to do things like start riots and control superheroes for his own enjoyment. Essentially, you don't want any of them getting in to your head, as you don't know what they'll have you doing.
