Blue Kryptonite debuted in Superman #140 and in the current canon of the DC universe has the ability to weaken the pasty skinned, dim-witted, Windows Vista knock off of Superman, Bizarro, to the same extent that Green Kryptonite has on normal Kryptonians.

In the Post-Crisis era of the Superman comics, the blue space rock had a much different effect on Bizarro. In fact, the rock made him far more intelligent, which confounded and scared the rogue into submission.

In Smallville, when the blue material was introduced, it had completely different effects. Given to Clark by a clone of his biological mother created by the Fortress of Solitude (don’t ask us how that works), the material had been forged into a ring and was a family heirloom owned by Jor-El which was to be passed down to his first born. When worn, the ring removed Clark’s powers temporarily and even made him immune to the effects of Green Kryptonite.
