3. Bruce Banner Visits The YMCA
Back in the 80's, negative stereotypes were rife in comic books. There are countless books that have aged horribly as the years have passed. Yet, even then Marvel received plenty of heat when they released the "A Very Personal Hell" storyline in Rampaging Hulk #23.
At this stage, Marvel had introduced maybe three LGBT+ characters and just as few black characters. So, when it came to representing a black, gay man, the writers handled it with extreme respect towards the community.
No, I'm totally kidding. It was absolutely horrific.
Banner is cornered in the showers by two men who attempt to have their way with him. Bruce is so terrified, he can't even turn into the Hulk, but Bruce is able to get away when the first assailant realises who they're trying to attack.

Shooter had set out to write a chilling, real life horror story that
would shock readers to their cores. Now, while Shooter may have achieved
that, readers were horrified for all the wrong reasons. He later
defended his story, stating it was based on real life experiences that
he and a friend had encountered.
