2. Maggott

Marvel Comics

Now bear with us – Maggott gets something of a short shrift in the long-line of X-Men. Yes, he had really weird powers: his digestive system became two, semi-sentient giant maggots that he named Eany and Meany, and after they fed they’d crawl back into him and give him enhanced strength, stamina and durability. Oh, and his skin would turn blue and his eyes red.

Okay, yes… it was weird. Scott Lobdell and Joe Madureira went in wanting to create the strangest X-Man to date, and they sure came out with one. But yes, the powers sound a little dumb. His guts literally drop out with minds of their own and then eat their way back into him to give him super-powers.

But that’s why he should be back in the comics! That’s what makes comics fun! Things should be weird and strange and crazy, and guess what, a little bit fun, so yeah, let’s let Maggott come back and be an X-Man with his bizarre ravenous, autonomous intestines.

And okay, if you have to make it all serious, the guy has lived through a concentration camp… well, ‘lived through’ is generous, as he was killed and then resurrected, because comics!
