Detective Martin Soap - the only list member without superpowers - was dropped on his head at birth, and abandoned at an orphanage. He grew up to be a NYPD officer and head of the Punisher Task Force. Soap is the walking embodiment of misfortune with no area of his life uneffected.

The task force was viewed as a fool’s errand and consisted of just Soap and behavioural psychologist Buddy Plugg.

However, Plugg hanged himself after Soap was dismissive of his medical discipline. Soap fell in love with his second partner Lt. Molly von Richthofen, but was crushed when he discovered she was a lesbian.

The two accidentally caught The Punisher, but he blackmailed his way to freedom with salacious photographs of the mayor and police commissioner.

Inspired by the swindling, Soap blackmailed his way to becoming Police Commissioner but was blackmailed himself with photographs of his time with a prostitute.

Soap’s sex life reached a new low when he unknowingly slept with his possible mother, cheating on her with his potential sister.

Soap crossed the line and worked alongside The Punisher, feeding him confidential information. However, he began to feel responsible for the hundreds of murders which The Punisher committed. After a failed suicide attempt, Soap moved to L.A and, taking advantage of his one lucky grace, found work as a porn star.
