10 Untouchable Comics Heroes (Who Shockingly Died)
5. Sue Dibny - Identity Crisis
Like with the death of Captain America, these moments by no means have to come from stories that are liked; they just have to be the deaths of characters that comics - for the most part - left completely alone for most of their lives.
Case in point, the poster child for such moments: Sue Dibny's death in Identity Crisis.
It wasn't so much that Sue was too powerful or untouchable in the conventional sense that it was a shock when someone killed her. It was that she was never a major player in the goings on of the DC universe that no one ever felt the need to kill her when other deaths would more reliably drive up sales.
But then Identity Crisis had to go and murder her. And then revealing that someone had sexually assaulted her way back when. Because Infinite Crisis was written by three edgy 13 year olds on top of each other wearing a trenchcoat.
Sue Dibny was never the most important DC character out there, but she definitely didn't deserve this.
