Justice League may not have earned the DCEU the same level of praise Avengers Infinity War and Endgame pulled in for the MCU, but that doesn't mean the brand is dead... Well, not a part of it anyway.

Guillermo del Toro revealed in November 2018 that he had completed writing a script he started years before for a project that has been well-established in development hell for years: Justice League Dark.

If you're unfamiliar with the darker version of the Justice League, you're not alone as the group has been long admired by comic book fans and the few who saw the animated film released back in 2017. The team consists of the darker, edgier characters of the DC Universe, and is made up of John Constantine, Madame Xanadu, Deadman, Shade, the Changing Man, and Zatanna.

Del Toro hasn't revealed much, but he did indicate Swamp Thing, Floronic Man, and Etrigan the Demon would all make appearances in the live-action film he was developing. Unfortunately, he has moved over to work as a producer with Michael Gilio taking over as the writer, so the lineup may change. The movie was confirmed back at the SDCC in 2017 with the title, Justice League Dark, but little else has been confirmed. There is no release date, casting, or anything as of late 2019, though it still remains in development.
