10 Utterly Ridiculous Comic Book Characters

7. Stone Boy

DC Comics

Stone Boy, the most heroic statue of the 30th Century! Created by Edmond Hamilton for Adventure Comics #306, Dag Wentim has the native Zwenian ability to turn himself into an immovable stone statue. He has been used to drop on opponents or use him as a bludgeoning weapon. Or sometimes he is just placed somewhere as a distraction while others complete their mission.

Stone Boy applied for the Legion of Super-Heroes but they rightly saw his powers as ridiculous and rejected him. He joined with other rejects and created their own Legion of Substitute Heroes and set up a headquarters focusing on the minor emergencies that slipped the larger Legion’s notice.

Through concentration and practice, Stone Boy has been able to turn only portions of his body to stone, like his fist, delivering a powerful punch. In recent years, after undergoing hypnotherapy, Dag is able to stay conscious and mobile in his stone form which gives him an undetermined amount of super strength and durability.
