8. Had Magneto Beaten Up... A Lot - Super-Villain Team-Up #14
In the Marvel Universe, with so many heroes and villains to contend with, it must be hard for a self-respecting super-villain to carve out a niche, a little patch of evil they can call their own. So, when you walk into Doom’s territory looking to conquer the world before him, you better get ready for a scrap.
Magneto tried his luck in 'Super-Villain Team-Up #14'. Having being revived after being turned into a baby (comics!), Magneto must have been needing a win, so he breaks into Castle Doom, offering Doom an alliance to attempt to conquer the world.
However, Doom being Doom has already taken over the world using mind control gas (comics!). After making Magneto attempt suicide a few times, Doom gets bored and releases him from his control, challenging Magneto to overthrow him.
The Magnet Man goes straight to the Avengers, and, after a scuffle, convinces Earth's Mightiest Heroes to help him... which immediately goes to hell when Doom activates the mind control on the Avengers. Magneto, ass thoroughly kicked, goes to the Champions, who eventually manage to release the world from Doom's control, by infecting him with his own gas, starting a strange feedback loop where he's controlling his own mind, which eventually causes all the gas to become inert (comics!).
Not only did Doom beat Magneto rather quickly several times, he even made the Avengers and the Champions beat him up, which by any definition, is a lot of defeat.
