10 Visually Impaired Comic Characters Who Can Kick Ass

6. Deathstroke (Missing One Eye)

Deathstroke, otherwise known as Slade Wilson, is a DC comics supervillain (and sometimes anti-hero) who is an assassin for hire. A former U.S. Army recruit (in which he quickly rose through the ranks, displaying incredible skills in warfare and mastering every fighting style he was taught), Wilson was chosen for a secret experiment. The Army imbued him with enhanced physical powers in an attempt to create metahuman supersoldiers for their forces, but he became a mercenary soon after he had taken part in the procedure, defying orders to rescue his friend Wintergreen, who had been sent on a suicide mission by a commanding officer with a grudge. It is generally believed that it is the treatment of his sons that led to him becoming vengeful enough to be classed as a villain - his younger son was taken hostage by a criminal named the Jackal and had his throat slit, rendering him mute, while another son, Grant, died following cybernetic upgrades given to him by the evil organisation the H.I.V.E. He lost his eye when his wife, Adeline, was enraged by their son Joseph's treatment and shot him. He makes no secret of his visual impairment and has proven himself capable of taking out even super-powered characters on a regular basis.
