10 Ways To Beat Superman

1. Psychological Manipulation

One of Superman's defining characteristics is his absolute sense of morality and justice. Unfortunately, this lack of cunning and ruthlessness means he is also very easy to manipulate.

One of the best examples of this is in the first issue of the Injustice series. The Joker kidnapped a pregnant Lois Lane and hid her inside a lead-lined submarine. When Superman eventually found her, Joker used a new version of Scarecrow's fear gas to trick Kal-El into thinking she was Doomsday. Without hesitation, Superman flew what he thought was his greatest enemy into space and only realised too late that it was actually his wife.

It only got worse from there. The Joker had connected Lois' heart to a detonator and the second she died, it triggered a nuclear bomb in Metropolis. In one fell swoop, Superman had killed the love of his life, his unborn child and the city he had sworn to protect.

This was enough to send Superman completely over the edge and transform him into an evil and heartless dictator, someone who was willing to destroy the pillars of truth and justice that he had always stood for.

Joker may not have killed Superman, but what he did was far worse. He made Superman completely destroy his own legacy.

He did get punched through the chest though so swings and roundabouts.

I was just a mild-mannered NCTJ accredited journalist until one day I found out the truth... that I could share my nerdy ramblings with people on the internet! It's just like mumbling to myself on the train, but without all the strange looks.
