10 Weird Alternate Versions Of Spider-Man
8. Spider-Man 2211
Marvel have shown that the Spider-Man mantle lived on through the centuries with Miguel O'Hara taking up the name in the year 2099. It seems inevitable then that eventually we would see a version of the wall crawler from an even farther flung future.
The Spider-Man of the year 2211 is almost unrecognisable from the Spidey we know. Instead of swinging around New York, Max Borne protected the time stream as part of the Timespinners. He had the strength and speed of a spider, but also wore a suit of (goofy looking) armour with a set Doctor Octopus-like mechanical arms.
Max teamed up with Peter and Miguel to stop the Hobgoblin of 2211, who tried to plunge the timestream into chaos by bringing over an Uncle Ben from an alternate universe.
Hobgoblin was stopped, but in the process was revealed to be Max's daughter Robin. She then accidentally detonated one of her own retcon bombs, wiping herself from existence.
Proving that the Parker luck apparently comes with the mantle, Spider-Man 2211 was later shot and killed by another Uncle Ben, who was really the Chameleon in disguise.
A less dead version of Max was also one of the many Spider-Men to take part in Spider-Verse.
