10 Weirdest Powers Superman Once Had But Lost

2. Amnesia-Inducing Smooches

One of the strangest and most inexplicable powers Superman has shown infrequently is his ability to mess with someone's head simply by kissing them. He famously did this at the end of Superman II, when it became necessary to remove Lois' memories of Superman's true identity as Clark Kent.

Like many powers on this list, that was unexplained. The audience had to essentially take it at face value that a kiss from the Man of Steel had the same effect as a night of heavy binge-drinking. Still, it wasn't the first (or only) time Superman has used the superpower.

In Action Comics #306, Perry White arranged for Lois and Clark to meet one another under some mistletoe. This results in the customary kiss, and while it didn't cause Lois to forget anything, it affected her. She was left feeling faint and dizzy, so a simple smooch clearly has some power behind it.

That said, it's not like Lois and Clark haven't made out a time or two since AC #306. They most certainly have, and it hasn't resulted in Lois' memory loss. This suggests his hypnotic kissing ability is a superpower he can turn off and on, though he hasn't used it for decades.
