10 Wolverine Fates Worse Than Death

7. The Possibility Of Outliving Everyone

Uncanny X-Force Apocalypse Solution Wolverine Death
Marvel Comics

Sure, Wolverine has been killed off at times within the pages of Marvel Comics, but said demises never quite stick and ol' Canucklehead is back alive and cracking skulls sooner rather than later.

The reality of Logan's situation, is that his healing powers mean he's destined to outlive everyone he knows.

Of course, immortality might sound appealing on the surface, but being near-enough unkillable means that you will see your nearest and dearest die, you will see the wars and battles that will shape the future of the world, and you'll inevitably see the Earth and beyond completely go to the dogs.

Throughout all of this, Wolvie will see friends come and go, lovers perish, and family fall apart. For Weapon X, the toll of that must surely be felt, with him knowing that he will eventually lose anyone he dares to get remotely close with. It's a sad, tragic reality, but this long-time member of the X-Men faces the prospect of a lonely, long existence full of regret, loss and pain.

One other school of thought, mind, is that Wolverine may end up sharing said long existence with the equally-unkillable Deadpool. Which for Logan, that could be a fate worse than being stuck on his lonesome.
