9. Having His Adamantium RIPPED OUT By Magneto - Fatal Attractions

A comic book moment as iconic as it is straight up horrifying, seeing Magneto strip Wolverine of his adamantium skeleton was shocking in 1993 and is still shocking today.
The prelude to this event involved the Master of Magnetism mounting a new attack with his Acolytes. When the X-Men go to confront him, Logan nearly eviscerates Magnus with his claws, which leads to an uncharacteristically emotional reaction from the once cold and calculating mutant radical.
Incensed by the attempt on his life, Magneto lifts Wolverine up and proceeds to extract the adamantium graft straight out of Wolverine's skeleton, through his skin, and out of his body completely. No more Weapon X, and no more metal claws.
The change stuck around too. After Professor X had mind-wiped his old friend in retaliation for brutalising one of his team, Logan himself regressed to a feral state. It wasn't until 1999 that Logan got his metal back, courtesy of a little help from Apocalypse.
