Illustrating that even the scruffiest looking and grizzled characters in comics aren't averse to grooming themselves now and then (as they should), Wolverine's admission to Frank Castle that he's partial to the odd Bath Bomb in Marvel Comics #1000 manages to catch everyone off guard - in more ways than one.

You see, this particular story was written by Punisher Max alum Garth Ennis, a writer famous for his macabre and cynical take on superheroes and violence. He's had ol' Frank terrorise Logan on more than one occasion, but he's also had them team up as well.

Needless to say, two burly, badass war veterans working together should impart a specific kind of tone; the kind usually typical of Ennis' bibliography.

Except, in the special anniversary issue, that isn't the case at all. Given but a page to work his magic alongside artist Gorlan Parlov, Ennis instead opts to depict the two anti-heroes' softer sides. Flanked by enemies, Logan starts meditating and admits to Frank that he loves using bath bombs, promising that he'll get Frank a crate of them if they make it out alive.

Honestly? It's a relief to hear that Logan is keeping himself clean, and even more unexpectedly great to learn that he probably makes regular trips to Lush on the sly.
