10 Wonder Woman Graphic Novels You Must Read Before You Die

3. Challenge Of The Gods

Wonder Woman Year One Rebirth
DC Comics

One of the older tales found on this list comes from the great George Pérez writing alongside fellow DC great, Len Wein. Wonder Woman: Challenge of the Gods was a seven-issue story arc published back in 1978-88 consisting of a compilation of stories dealing with numerous enemies, gods, and interesting characters.

The various stories involve familiar enemies including Cheetah, conflicts between Zeus and Diana over her virginity, familiar faces such as Hercules, Hermes, Hades, and many more.

The classic tales are thrown together in a manner similar to the labors of Hercules. Diana must accomplish various goals across the numerous stories to become the Wonder Woman she is today.

Pérez's work on the character shines in this compilation of some of his greatest stories making Challenge of the Gods a "must read" for anyone who loves Wonder Woman.
