10 Worst Ever Members Of The Justice League

2. Vibe

Justice League Of Antarctica
DC Comics

Like Snapper Carr before him, Vibe was another awkward attempt at reaching a new demographic, this time cashing in on the 80's love of Latin-America.

Unfortunately, comics aren't exactly known to be on the pulse of current issues and so the break dance loving Paco Ramone was introduced just as it was going out of style, making him almost instantly uncool. His MC Hammer reject costume certainly didn't help either.

The other problem with Vibe was that his backstory read like stereotype bingo, he was a jive-talking Hispanic former gang member who constantly hit on women and talked to white people in an exaggerated Mexican accent.

Vibe was part of an attempt to reinvigorate the Justice League with Justice League Detroit and he perfectly encapsulates what was so wrong with that era. It was a failed attempt to make the League more socially relevant that tried to tackle current issues which badly missed the mark and filled the team's roster with bad stereotypes.

For a long time, Vibe also had the dubious honour of being the first League member to be killed in action until he was brought back as part of the New 52 and debuted on the Flash TV show. Both incarnations seemed to have cracked the secret to making Vibe work, which is abandoning everything about him except for his vibration powers.
