10 Worst Spider-Man Costumes Of All Time
3. Spider-Man 1602 Suit
Neil Gaiman's Marvel 1602 takes place in a divergent timeline where superheroes and supervillains live in medieval London. Because of this, every character's appearance was drastically altered to fit the time period. At first, you'd assume it would look silly to rework Captain America into a Native American Chief or tweak Magneto into a Grand Inquisitor. But because of the gorgeous artwork, all of the characters look incredible.
Well, most of them. The 17th century version of Spider-Man (who is known as The Spider) probably has the worst look in the series. If he intended to strike fear into his enemies' hearts, the arachnid-themed superhero failed since nobody looks scary in a befrocked coat and a neck frill. He has no eye-markings on his mask so his eyes can be seen clearly, making him look even less intimidating.
In the artist's defence, it must be tricky to make this version of Peter look like Spider-Man while still maintaining the Elizabethan motif. But if The Spider lost the ruffle and kept the white-eye design on the mask, he would've looked a lot better.
