10 Worst Things Captain Marvel Has Ever Done
9. Taking Over Jean Grey's Mind (Twice) - Uncanny X-Men #236/ Captain Marvel (Vol.10) #4
As fun as it is to see someone turn the tables on Rogue by using her power-absorbing powers to control her mind, it's not something that can be considered an especially heroic act. This is doubly true for Captain Marvel, as she's managed to take over Rogue's psyche twice in the comic universe; once on and off after Uncanny X-Men #236, and then once in Captain Marvel #4.
While it was understandable back when Rogue was trying to kill her, now that she isn't, it seems kind of cold for Captain Marvel to just totally remove all of her self-control. In Captain Marvel #4, this is supposedly justified so that Carol can use her powers to fight the Nuclear Man.
Only... Rogue is also totally capable of using Carol's powers, as we've seen since literally their very first fight. This in mind, it seems more than a little messed up that Captain Marvel repeatedly takes over her mind, as she's perfectly capable of being a big girl and fighting without someone piloting her mind like some kind of mech.
