Now, it's worth saying from the outset that Carol Danvers has perhaps the most justifiable turn to alcoholism a comic character has ever been given, as she gives birth to a child that ages rapidly, mind controls her into falling in love with him, and then kidnaps her, with the consent of all of her friends and allies in the Avengers.

Naturally, this messed Carol up big time, leading her to turn to drink to try and fix her problems. Although it's not a healthy solution, this in of itself isn't the issue - no, it's that Carol decides to keep trying to be a superhero while she's drinking immense quantities every day.

As you'd expect, combining one superhero and twelve daily Jäegerbombs isn't a match made in heaven, and Carol causes absolute chaos until she's eventually kicked out of the Avengers for misconduct - and for almost blowing them up like seven times.
