10 Worst Things Magneto Has Ever Done

Magneto's shenanigans on Asteroid M eventually led to the epic storyline Fatal Attractions.

With the threat of nuclear annihilation literally hanging over their heads, the United Nations came together to figure out a way to stop Magneto once and for all. When Asteroid M was destroyed (again), they leaped into action and activated the Magneto Protocols, a network of satellites around Earth. The satellites created a field of electromagnetic distortion that would have prevented Magneto from using his powers anywhere on the planet.

Of course, for that to work, Magneto had to be anywhere on the planet. Unfortunately for them, he was on a second space station named Avalon (and that why you should always pack spares of all your essentials kids).

From his vantage point Magneto was able to generate an electromagnetic pulse which wiped out the satellites and disrupted electronics on Earth. There was panic all over the world as traffic lights went haywire, vital hospital equipment failed and VCRs failed to record that week's episode of Dallas.

It was a devastating move that almost sent Earth back to the Dark Age and finally convinced Professor X that it was time to deal with Magneto once and for all.
