10 Worst Things Reed Richards Has Ever Done

Ben's transformation into The Thing represents many things, but in terms of Reed's character, it is a near constant reminder of the consequences of listening to his own ego instead of the facts. Deciding that he HAD to be right and everyone else was wrong cost the best friend he ever had his normal life and all of his aspirations.

Fortunately, many moments have come in the past where Ben has gotten to have his normal body again. But one time when he did, Reed really didn't think through how his friend felt about his former body. So when Luke Cage left the team, leaving them with only three members again, Reed decided to put Ben back on the team by making him a suit that he can use to keep up.

Sounds harmless enough, downright thoughtful of Reed in fact. Shame that he messed it up by making it look like The Thing.

You cannot convince me that Reed motherloving Richards couldn't come up with a less bulky version of The Thing's body that still has all the strength of that former body. And even if he couldn't, Ben HATES how he looks as The Thing, so why subject him to having to look like that at all when he gets his original body back?
